As autumn arrived, the Tallinn Design Festival Disainiöö 2022 once again hosted its much-anticipated “Design Street” market—a lively weekend event set amid the historic Baltic Manufactory. More than a hundred designers and brands from Estonia, Georgia, and beyond converged to display an eclectic mix of fashion, accessories, and interior design. Visitors roamed freely on foot, discovering a broad spectrum of creative expressions and meeting the talents behind the products.

For the second consecutive year, Design Georgia presented a diverse roster of Georgian creators, each offering a fresh perspective on functional art and everyday aesthetics. At the heart of the market, Funduki showcased a practical yet stylish approach with oversized quilted and smooth-fabric bags, featuring clean silhouettes, discreet pockets, and adjustable straps. Their minimalist color palettes and subtle grid stitching underscored a harmonious blend of reliability and flair—an ethos carried over to their fuss-free rain ponchos.

Kaileisi introduced silver jewelry defined by sculptural fluidity—earrings cascading like droplets and rings curving elegantly around the wearer’s finger. This organic yet polished aesthetic lent each piece the dual identity of statement accessory and wearable art.
Meanwhile, Spilow transformed children’s wear into a realm of imaginative play with dinosaur-inspired hoodies and hats in vibrant hues, all crafted from natural materials. Their playful silhouettes encouraged kids to explore creativity through role play.

Turning to home décor, DesignScolio delivered sculptural furniture and lighting, pairing bold, abstract textiles on modular seating with lamps composed of stacked geometric forms.
Saini offered swirling kaleidoscopic patterns on pillows and scarves, layering vivid colors and circular motifs to evoke energy and depth—demonstrating how pattern and symmetry can elevate everyday items into captivating statements.

Rounding out Design Georgia’s lineup, Altersocks put a playful spin on a daily essential by infusing socks with whimsical prints—from autumn leaves to iconic Georgian landmarks—allowing wearers to add a dash of personality to their attire.

Throughout the weekend, the market buzzed with enthusiasm as visitors discovered imaginative children’s wear, elegant jewelry, and eye-catching furniture. This second appearance at “Design Street” reaffirmed Design Georgia’s role in uniting cultures through creative expression, merging functional design with artistry to captivate audiences far beyond their homeland.
The participation of Georgian designers was supported by Loov Eesti – Creative Estonia, dedicated to nurturing creative talent and bridging innovative ideas with the marketplace. Their support empowers emerging designers and promotes cross-cultural collaboration, ensuring fresh creative voices continue to inspire globally.
